In-Car Behind-the-Wheel Curriculum (Optional)

After completion of the academic class, each driver has the option of receiving behind-the-wheel training taught by a driving safety professional:

Avoiding a head-on crash – emergency reaction
Avoiding a side-impact crash – emergency reaction
Off-road recovery – emergency situation
Straight line braking to avoid a skid
90 degree turns – avoiding a skid
Steering drills and weight transfer
Backing fundamentals
Simulate driving drunk – problems with vision/coordination and vehicle control

MISSION STATEMENT: Mid-America Driving Solutions, in cooperation with the Topeka Driving School, is dedicated to providing an advanced, comprehensive, defensive driving program for drivers of all ages. We will help each driver recognize specific hazardous driving situations, and teach them to react safely and appropriately to each through academic and (optional) in-the-car hands-on-training. Our goal is to help drivers gain these critical proactive defensive driving skills.
